 Teresa Vito - oils

"From the time I picked up my first crayon I knew art was my truth. My enthusiasm for drawing and painting
has never wavered and so my path was chosen. Painting for me brings the wonders of life into visual form. When I am
painting, the subject I am seeing comes to life as I receive the energy of its beauty and harmony. Sometimes a painting
flows like magic, but mostly it's about the process. The process is my passion. "

Teresa Vito’s paintings reflect the beauty she sees all around her. She loves to paint living energy, whether it is the
outdoor landscape, berries and flowers picked for a still life or the unending variety of the human form. A master of
portraiture -- her paintings describe not only the physical features of a person but the spirit of the person as well.

Her constant quest to expand her knowledge and experiences lead to plein air painting because for her the expression of the
earth can be as telling as those of people. Recent travels to Spain, Mexico, Italy and France have provided her with a fresh
view of the land and its inhabitants. She continually paints wherever life takes her, never far from a paint brush. Her paintings
are a beautiful balance of detail and painterly gesture.

Vito has been working full time as an artist since 1992 and has a B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She has
won numerous national awards’ including an award of excellence, Best Portrait and Best Still Life from Oil Painters of America.
She currently resides in Pueblo, Colorado – a day's drive away from some of her favorite painting spots.
